The Florida Run brings its trail series to Lake Louisa State Park near Clermont, with a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K on Saturday 7 November. Runners and walkers of every level share chip timed courses through pine woods, open meadows and quiet lakeshores, and every finisher leaves with a medal.

The Florida Run at Lake Louisa State Park is a stop on The Florida Run trail series, held in the state park just outside Clermont, in the rolling lake country west of Orlando. Three distances start on the morning of Saturday 7 November: the half marathon at 7:00, the 10K at 7:15 and the 5K at 7:30, all chip timed.

The courses weave through lush pine forest, open meadows and picturesque lakeshores, with pine needles underfoot and towering oaks for shade. The terrain is varied but gentle: about 69 ft of climbing on the 5K, 135 ft on the 10K and 275 ft on the half marathon. Aid stations come roughly every two miles with water or Gatorade, the last three on the half adding bananas and bars. Keep an eye out for deer and the park's many bird species along the way.

Built to welcome first timers as well as seasoned trail runners, the event is family friendly and every finisher receives a medal. Awards go to the overall podium, masters and age groups, with a team challenge for civil servants. Parking is a single day state park pass bought online on race morning, and the fee goes straight to Lake Louisa State Park.
